The way to Lustria (It's not yet a Jungle in here...)

Since many years i have a few gaming tables but I never made much scenery beside some hills and a few other basic things and structures you need to play battles. The Lustria Campaign inspired me to make a greenery. Pretty basic too but i did not have much yet.

I read the Lustria book for inspiration and had my own ideas on the subject. I soon came to the conclusion that the mass could easily be made with plastic "fake plants" stuff you can buy in flower shops and stores with home decoration.
So I got a lot of grass mats and plastic plant stuff. For something between 100 and 200 Euro i had more than enough to literally fill a whole gaming table and a lot extra (as a gaming gifts for friends).
To my surprise and joy the plastic plant stuff proved to be interchangeble because the sizes of pins and holes were about the same on all of them.
Making a jungle was a matter of taking time, scissors and cut the grass-mats into "random forms" and adding other plants to these forms.

The end-result was A LOT of scenery a (small) part of which can be seen in a big Lustria battle shown below.

These are some patches of grass of different size with other plants with several different types of elaves added to them.

Works well as swampy jungle, especially in combination with some pools (from my friend Etoile), hills and the green gaming table.
The battle site as a whole was the border of the swampy jungle where the temple site begins. The temple site on rocky ground on grey gaming table (with temple constructs from my friend Etoile) had less plants.
The grey gaming table had much less scenery than the green one so the different parts of the battle were be very different types of battles.
In regard to greenery: out of 1 grass mat i made a big snake (with a flower as the eye) which works and looks well and fits the Lizardmen theme.
